How can Science be connected to God?

Love is an important evidence of Christian life as Paul mentioned in 1 Corinthians 13:1-3. As a Christian scientist, how any scientific activity can be connected to God's love has been my great interest. My practical question is how God's glory would be able to manifest through my scientific activities. I made three plans to find the answer.

1. Ask the Holy Spirit

There might be no answer to this question since it should be experienced through my scientific works. After Jesus Christ's Resurrection, he sent us the Advocate who will guard from the evil and give us wisdom and courage to fight against the evil. The Holy Spirit would be a source of all ideas and knowledge. He knows scientific secrets which are hidden beyond any phenomenon since all beings have been created by God who sent him. I could find the best solution by asking Him whenever I get stuck in a problem during research activities.

2. Share knowledge

To protect intellectual property has been an important issue in both industrial and scientific fields. It should be noticed that the intellectual property is not perpetual but temporary as other types of properties are. Moreover, the intellectual properties are inherently associated to earning profits using knowledge in a legal way. However, no scientists or engineers have their unique ownership for any knowledge; the only owner of all knowledge and wisdom is God. How does God want us to make use of knowledge? I believe that God wants us to share data and knowledge with others. Fortunately, a recent trend among scientific communities is to open data in order to secure reproducibility as well as reusability. The open science does not only mean sharing data among scientists but also means introducing scientific fruits to non-scientists clearly and simply in plain language. Sharing knowledge is not a loss but would be returned as a benefit since it would lead to more awareness and influence of shared data.

3. Develop applications for people

Engineering is to develop practical applications of scientific knowledge. It is regrettable that technologies have been the major means to make more money over a few centuries. On the other hand, all we are aware that technologies may be instrumental for the weak and the sick. I believe that God wants any scientific knowledge to be used to help the weak and the sick. For me, it is a very rewarding job to work as a researcher at the Children's Hospital since my works would be finally beneficial for patients who suffer from serious diseases such as congenital heart defects, intrauterine growth restriction, and autism spectrum disorders.

I imagine a Christian scientist who always fears God, asks the Holy Spirit, shares knowledge with other scientists and people, and are interested in developing useful applications for the weak and the sick. To connect science to God's will is my dream and mission as a scientist.
